Political Advertising Rules

The disclosure and targeting rules that apply to ads about candidates, elections, and, on most platforms, social issues. US federal rules (FEC) require disclaimers on candidate and PAC ads; every major platform requires advertiser verification and maintains a public ad library; Google restricts political targeting to age, gender, and postal-code geography; Meta allows broader targeting with restrictions in the final election week. The EU's Regulation on the Transparency and Targeting of Political Advertising applies from October 2025.
