Reddit Ads
Interest communities with a level of topical specificity no other platform matches: a subreddit is a self-selected audience around one subject. Reddit's advertising business grew rapidly after its 2024 listing and its formats and measurement matured accordingly.
- Where ads run
- Feed (promoted posts in home and community feeds)
- Conversation pages (promoted comments and conversation placement)
- Search results (Dynamic Product Ads and keyword-targeted ads)
- Campaign types
- Brand awareness and reach
- Video views

- Targeting
- Communities (subreddit targeting)
- Interests (aggregated community categories)
- Keywords (in searches and posts)
- Custom Audiences: lists, Reddit Pixel, engagement
- Lookalike Audiences
- Location, device, OS, time of day
- Buying
Auction-based, billed by impression, click, or view; automated bidding available. Minimum daily budget is $5 for auction; takeovers and reservation formats through Reddit's sales team. CPCs are low relative to Meta and Google, and CPMs are low; creative that reads as native to the community is the difference between success and being downvoted.
- Measurement
Reddit Pixel and Conversions API; attribution windows up to 28-day click; brand lift and conversion lift; MMP support; Reddit's ad library is public.
- Watch
Reddit users are unusually hostile to advertising that talks down to them and unusually receptive to advertising that is useful and honest. Comments are enabled by default on promoted posts; leaving them on and answering them tends to help. Community targeting is the reason to be here; broad interest targeting can be bought more cheaply elsewhere.
