Lookalike Audience
Also: Similar audience; Audience expansion
A platform-generated audience of users who resemble a seed audience the advertiser supplies, typically customers or converters. Lookalikes were the workhorse of social prospecting in the 2010s. Since 2022 Meta and Google have folded them into automated targeting (Advantage+ audiences, optimized targeting), where the seed is a signal rather than a boundary.
