How much do Google Ads cost?

Google Ads has no minimum spend; you pay per click at auction prices that averaged $4.30 to $5.50 across industries in 2026, from under $2 in ecommerce to over $20 in legal and insurance. A small business testing search can start at $20 to $50 a day; a meaningful test in a competitive category needs several thousand dollars a month to produce enough conversions to learn from.

What moves it

Cost is set by the queries you bid on and the competition for them, moderated by Quality Score. Budget determines volume, not price. Management (agency or in-house time) and landing pages are the other costs, and they usually decide whether the media works.
