A bank, a payments company, or an asset manager usually runs two kinds of marketing at once. The consumer side buys funded accounts and card applications at a cost the compliance team can sign off on. The institutional side is a trust operation, where the media plan exists to make ten thousand very specific people slightly more confident before a meeting, and treasurers do not fill out forms. I have bought media for Visa, PayPal, Nasdaq, JPMorgan Chase, and Blackstone across two decades, and the programs that worked kept the two sides on separate plans with separate scoreboards.
Compliance shapes the plan from the first brief. Credit products run in the platforms' special ad categories, which remove targeting by age, gender, and ZIP code, and investment advertising carries SEC and FINRA rules. Copy clears legal review before it reaches a platform, and the targeting is built from what each category allows.
On the institutional side, search reputation matters more than reach. For Nasdaq, the job was clearing negative results from page one for Directors Desk in nine countries, in the local language of each results page. The same discipline now covers AI answers, which an analyst may read before opening a single search result, and that work runs through the SEO + GEO practice.
For teams that cannot put deal flow or client positions into a public model, the AI tools I build run as private or local models on your own infrastructure. Crypto and digital asset advertising carries its own rules in every country, tracked at CryptoRegulations.net.
An engagement usually begins by splitting the plan in two: what the consumer side pays for a funded account, and who the institutional side reaches before a meeting.

Quick answers
How do the special ad category rules affect financial advertising?
In the US, ads for credit products on Meta and Google run in categories that remove targeting by age, gender, and ZIP code, along with interests that stand in for them. Plans for cards, loans, and lines of credit are built from the targeting those categories allow, and the creative carries the disclosures each product requires.
Can you remove negative search results about a financial firm?
Search engines rarely remove a result on request, so the work pushes negative results off page one with stronger ones: owned pages, profiles, coverage, and content that answer the same searches better. For Nasdaq, that cleared page one for Directors Desk in nine countries.
Can financial teams use AI tools without exposing client data?
Yes. The tools I build for financial teams run as private or local models on your infrastructure or on a dedicated instance, so deal flow and client positions never reach a public model.
